WelcoMe Brand Use Terms for Partners v1

1. Who these terms are for

These terms explain how you may use the WelcoMe logo and name if you work with us. They apply to:

  • Venues using WelcoMe, including co-branded WelcoMe-hosted pages and the embedded widget (section 6).
  • Press and media writing about WelcoMe (section 7).
  • Funders and implementation partners who want to show the WelcoMe logo on their own material.

If you have a signed agreement with us that says something different about our brand, that agreement takes priority. If you want to use our brand in a way these terms do not cover, ask us first at hello@wel-co.me.

2. What you may use, and why

We give you a free, non-exclusive permission to use the WelcoMe logo, in the files we supply, for one purpose: to show accurately that you use, work with, fund or are writing about WelcoMe.

  • The permission covers the logo files in the partner pack and the name "WelcoMe" in text.
  • It does not cover our product icons, our website design, screenshots of our platform, or any other WelcoMe material. Ask us if you need those.
  • It is personal to your organisation. You may not pass it on or sub-license it, except to a printer or designer producing your material for you.
  • It lasts while you have a relationship with us, unless we end it under section 9.

Use only the files in our partner pack, exactly as supplied. The logo is custom artwork, so never retype "Welcome" in a script font or redraw it.

  • Colour: use the rose logo on white or light backgrounds. Use the white logo on dark backgrounds or photographs, and the single-colour ink logo only where print allows one colour. Never recolour it to your own brand.
  • Clear space and size: follow the clear space and minimum size in the partner pack.
  • No changes: do not stretch, crop, rotate, outline, add effects to, or animate the logo, and do not combine it with your own logo or any other mark into a single design. Place it beside your logo with space between them.
  • In text: write the name as WelcoMe, with a capital M. Our domain is written wel-co.me.

4. What you must not do

  • Use the logo in a way that could mislead anyone about what WelcoMe is or does, or about your relationship with us.
  • Use the logo on anything unlawful, offensive, or that could harm WelcoMe's reputation or the trust of the disabled people who use it.
  • Use "WelcoMe", "Wel-co.me" or anything confusingly similar in your own company, product, app or event name, domain name or social media handle.
  • Try to register the WelcoMe logo, "Wel-co.me", or anything confusingly similar as a trade mark, company name or domain, anywhere.
  • Put the logo next to venues, services or products that do not use WelcoMe, in a way that suggests they do.

5. Describing your relationship with WelcoMe

Showing our logo says only that you use, work with or fund WelcoMe. It is not a certificate, accreditation or rating of your accessibility, and you must not present it as one.

  • Do not say or imply that WelcoMe has inspected, approved, certified or endorsed your venue, service or organisation.
  • Do not say or imply that using WelcoMe makes you compliant with the Equality Act 2010 or any other law.
  • Plain factual statements are fine without asking us, for example: "We use WelcoMe so you can tell us about your access needs before you visit."
  • Anything else that describes WelcoMe, our partnership, or what WelcoMe does for your visitors needs our written approval before it goes out. We aim to reply within five working days.

6. Venues: co-branded pages and the widget

You can add your brand to the pages WelcoMe hosts for you and to the widget on your website. You supply one brand colour and your logo.

  • You control: your logo beside ours in the page header, the main button colour, and your brand links. If your colour is not readable enough for accessibility, the page uses WelcoMe's colour instead.
  • WelcoMe keeps: body text and backgrounds, the focus outline, all status colours, and the WelcoMe logo, which is never recoloured.
  • Your logo: by supplying it, you confirm you have the right to use it and allow us to display it on your WelcoMe pages and widget while you use WelcoMe.
  • When you stop using WelcoMe: remove our logo and any wording about WelcoMe from your own website and material within 30 days. We will take down your co-branded pages.

This section works alongside your WelcoMe customer agreement. Where they differ, the customer agreement applies.

7. Press and media

You may use the logo from our partner pack to illustrate news, reviews or features about WelcoMe. You do not need to ask first.

  • Please use the supplied files rather than a copy from a screenshot or search result.
  • Do not use the logo in advertising, or in a way that suggests WelcoMe sponsors or endorses your publication.
  • For images of our platform, product icons or team, contact us at hello@wel-co.me.

8. Trade mark notice

Where your material has a legal or credits line, use this wording exactly:

The WelcoMe logo and Wel-co.me are registered UK trade marks, used with permission.
  • The ® symbol may go next to the WelcoMe logo or next to "Wel-co.me". Never put ® or ™ next to "WelcoMe" typed as plain text.
  • Never put ® next to our product icons.
  • The ordinary word "welcome" is not ours. You are free to use it in its everyday sense.

9. Ownership, changes and ending permission

  • Ownership: the WelcoMe logo, "Wel-co.me" and the WelcoMe name belong to us. Any goodwill from your use of them belongs to us too. Nothing in these terms transfers any rights to you beyond the permission in section 2.
  • Checks and corrections: we may ask to see how you are using our brand. If we ask you to correct or stop a use, please do so within 14 days, or straight away if the use is misleading.
  • Ending permission: we may withdraw this permission at any time by telling you in writing, and it ends automatically when your relationship with us ends. You then have 30 days to stop using our brand, except for printed material already distributed.
  • Changes: we may update these terms and the partner pack. The current version applies from the date we send or publish it.
  • Who we are and the law: these terms are given by Neatebox Limited (company number SC409943), which operates WelcoMe. They are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
